I cannot log into Patientcentre

I don't have an NHS login account

Patientcentre uses NHS login to verify your identity. If you access the NHS App, you use the same account to log into Patientcentre as you do for the NHS App. If you need to register for an NHS login account, see How do I log into Patientcentre?

If you have an NHS login account but you still cannot log in, the issue is usually related to your NHS login account rather than the Patientcentre app.

Below is a list of the most common login issues.

I forgot my NHS login password

On the NHS login screen, select Forgot password below the password field, then follow the steps to reset it.

If you do not receive an email, check your email's junk or spam folder.

If you still cannot reset your password, you will need to contact NHS login support directly. Patientcentre cannot reset NHS login passwords. To do this, contact NHS login via this webpage: help.login.nhs.uk/contact.

I am not receiving a security code

NHS login sends a security code by text message, email or through the NHS App depending on your setup.

Check that:

  • Your mobile number is correct
  • You have signal
  • Your email is correct and not in your junk or spam folder

If your contact details have changed, update them in your NHS login account settings.

If you are locked out due to too many failed login attempts, wait and try again or contact NHS login support.

I have changed my phone number

If you changed your phone number and cannot receive security codes, you must update your details through NHS login.

If you cannot access your account to update your details, contact NHS login support.

Note: even if you have provided updated contact details such as a new mobile phone number to the hospital delivering your care, you will still need to provide this updated information to NHS login

My account is locked

After several failed attempts, NHS login may temporarily lock your account. Wait and try again later or follow the unlock instructions provided by NHS login.

Important

Patientcentre cannot:

  • Reset NHS login passwords
  • Change NHS login mobile numbers
  • Unlock NHS login accounts
  • Verify your identity

For help with NHS login itself, contact NHS login support via the NHS website: help.login.nhs.uk/contact.

For further information on NHS login, visit the NHS login Help centre: help.login.nhs.uk.
